David Mazur is an accomplished engineer, lawyer, and qualified patent attorney with a diverse and impressive career. He began his professional journey as an engineer before joining the European Patent Office as a patent examiner in 2004. In 2014, he moved to CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, managing the IP portfolio and leading a tech transfer team. David joined Nestlé in 2017 as a senior legal counsel for R&D, contributing significantly to key strategic R&D initiatives, including partnerships in sustainable packaging and the R&D Accelerators. In 2019, David took on the role of head of patent counsels at Nestlé. As general counsel for R&D, since 2022, he leads a global team of patent attorneys, lawyers, IP analysts and portfolio specialists responsible for enabling and protecting Nestlé’s innovations. His deep understanding of R&D and strategic transformation of his team has been instrumental in delivering end-to-end efficiency, enabling and protecting innovations, and ensuring freedom to operate and defend intellectual property in a rapidly evolving competitive landscape.
